How do I get started, create a list or add an item?

When I add a new item some details don't appear, why is this?

Whilst NoMoreNotebooks successfully adds the correct information from the majority of websites users use, sometimes our adding item process is not perfect, we hope to improve it in the future. If some details are not correctly found you will always have the option to add them manually in the form box before submitting the item. You can also edit your items after they have been added if any details need changing.

How do I give my list an image?

To add an image to your list you must get the full website address of the image you wish to use including the extension (eg http://www.nomorenotebooks.com/images/logo_email.jpg). To get this using Internet Explorer, right click the image you wish to use, select properties from the menu that appears and copy the text to the right of address: (URL). If you are using Firefox then right click the image and select 'copy image location' and in Safari select 'copy image address'. You can then paste this address into the image input box when creating a new list or if you select edit list on one of your list pages.

How do I send a private message?

To send a private message, visit the profile of the user you wish to send the message too and click on the link 'Send Private Message'.

What's the difference between 'My Dashboard' and 'My Profile'?

Your Dashboard is an area to keep track of your actions on the site, showing summaries of your lists, items you have reserved and upcoming friend events. Your Profile page is what other users will see when they view your page and is where you can view your own lists, friends and messages other members have written on your notepad.

How do I hide my lists from other people?

If you would like to make any of your lists hidden from other members then visit the list page and click on the 'Edit List' link. From here you can select to make your list public so anyone can see it, private so only you can see it, or for just your NoMoreNotebooks friends to see.

How do i make my profile to private to those i do not know?

If you would like to make your profile hidden from other members then visit your profile page and click on the 'Edit Profile' link. From here you can select to make your profile public so anyone can see it or private so only your NoMoreNotebooks friends can see it.

Can I remove friends I have added?

Yes of course! Just visit the profile page of the friend you wish to remove and click on the 'Remove From Friends' link.

What does reserving an item do?

When you choose to reserve an item from a list you are letting the list owner and other visitors to the list know that you are going to purchase this item for the list creator. This can help to prevent people receiving a single item more than once from different people on their Birthday or Wedding for example. It also allows you to track the item in your dashboard and remind yourself whether you still need to purchase the item.
